Hello, my name is Kaila Rains, and I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read this story. On Friday, August 4, 2024, my uncle, Dave Crawford, was involved in a fatal head-on collision. Dave and his passenger, Tony, were driving when they were struck by a drunk driver who crossed into their lane. The impact was so forceful that it broke both of their seatbelts, crushing my uncle's legs and ejecting Tony from the vehicle. Both individuals are in critical condition as they were life-flighted from the scene in Barren County, Kentucky, to Tri Star Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Dave has undergone one major surgery since the accident to stabilize his femur. We are currently waiting for him to undergo multiple surgeries as he remains in the trauma unit. Dave has a very long road of recovery ahead of him, with both of his legs being shattered, multiple broken ribs, collar bone, deep wounds, etc. Any money donated will go directly to Dave. As many of you know, he is self-employed, and donations will contribute to helping with unknown expenses caused by this tragic event.
