Hi my name is Marie and my husband Fred who is an Army veteran…husband…father and grandfather is in desperate need of a double lung transplant…Back in 2019 he was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis which when once diagnosed your life span is 3 to 5 years. It is not caused from smoking but it is a fast progressing disease that is causing his lung tissues to harden very rapidly. The Drs. are predicting that he has less than 6 months if we don’t get the transplant. Unfortunately we are coming down to his last stages, even though he is a veteran and has been going thru the Long Beach VA medical system their lung transplant facility is in Washington or Seattle which would mean we’d literally have to move out there. So his pulmonary Dr. from the VA referred him to UCLA medical who is well known for their lung transplants. But unfortunately since he is going through UCLA the VA doesn’t pay for it and Medicare only pays 80% so we are responsible for the other 20%. The pre-transplant procedure consist of multiple Dr. visits as well as multiple testing. The bills are starting to pile up and unfortunately I only work part time due to having to be at home taking care of him. He has to be on an oxygen concentrator 24/7 now. I was trying my hardest not to have to do a LFEBridge and do it on my own but unfortunately it’s taking a toll on me too. So I decided to put my pride aside and ask my family and friends and friends of friends for help. We will be grateful for any little donation anyone can spare for I know that times are so very hard for everyone right now. If you are unable to donate I ask if you can please share or say a prayer for the right set of lungs come along. I strongly believe in the power of prayer. I’ve been doing a lot of praying not just for my husband but for God’s will to be in the mist of this whole situation because I know that in order for my husband to get his new lungs that unfortunately some family out there will be losing a loved one. So that’s why I ask God daily for his will to be done not ours. I thank each and everyone of you that took the time to read this and I am very grateful for those of you that are able to donate and are willing to share this for us. Thank you and may God bless each and every one of us.
