My nephew Frankie Gray received the unimaginable, heartbreaking news every family prays they will never have to hear. Just ahead of his 4th birthday when he was supposed to be starting preschool, he was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. To make matters more worrisome, Frankie has heightened risk levels due to Down syndrome and the heart surgery he underwent when he was one. Despite that, he has the most loving, strongest heart we know. Anyone lucky enough to cross his path has been met with his infectious smile, fiery energy, and hilarious sense of humor that brightens every room. Frankie now needs his friends and fans near and far to support him through this healing journey ahead. His family is intent on a full recovery, but know it will be a long road ahead. Both of his parents plan to be by his side while they spend the next month receiving chemotherapy treatments at the Omaha Children’s Hospital, three hours from their home in Kearney. After this month, they expect to travel back and forth weekly for treatments in the two and half years to come. They have no paid leave to lean on and we all know the cost of health care in America. We are asking for your financial support to help them afford accommodations while staying in Omaha, gas to travel back and forth, and the immense cost of medical bills that will come with this life-saving treatment. We are so grateful to his huge team of support behind him and feel so strengthened by the community standing with us during this difficult time. We take none of it for granted.
