Hi my name is Ebony. I’m a RN in south GA and I’ve started this fundraiser on behalf of a family that has become my family over the last several years. August 4, 2024 started off like any other day. I dropped my son off to his Grandmother’s house before work, not knowing what the day would hold. That afternoon, a severe thunderstorm came through the area, which resulted in lightning striking the home and causing a fire. Thankfully, my son, his grandparents (Joy and Pernell), Aunt Shaunda, cousins (Masiah, Ashton, baby Zaylah, Jeremiah,) and his 86 year old “Pop-Pop” made it out safely; however, there are so many necessary items, such as clothing, shoes, toiletries and especially baby items that were unable to be saved and will need to be replaced. Additionally, the home will need to be cleaned and repaired before they are able to return, especially with members of the family being severely asthmatic. As you can imagine, with school starting in a couple of days, the timing of this unfortunate incident adds to the urgency of my sincere request for your help. No amount is considered too small and any amount will be greatly appreciated! All donations will be provided directly to the family to assist with temporary lodging, meals and replacement of necessary items. Thank you in advance for your support and generosity!
