Hello, my name is Brooks & I created this LFEBridge account for my loving mother, Consuelo Shelton. She is in dire need of a kidney transplant as she is rapidly reaching renal failure. Currently, she is in the process of being put on the kidney-transplant list. Before she can be approved, she needs to undergo a few immediate medical procedures in order to be cleared for a transplant. With these procedures come medical expenses - after insurance, it’s about $10K. It’s our priority to raise this amount so we can move forward with the next stages of transplantation. As much as we would love to be able to take care of this expense all on our own, my family is not able to do so, financially. We have come to a wall that has us reaching out for assistance. The expense of the transplant alone was quoted at $13k (after insurance). After the transplant, medical expenses continue with a lifetime of pharmaceutical costs as she’ll be required to take medication to maintain her health/kidney status daily. We know additional funds will be needed to help cover her medical bills & her living expenses in the future. She’ll be out of work for a long period of time as she undergoes all that is necessary for a successful kidney-transplant. However, at this time, it’s my family’s priority to raise the $10k needed for these first procedures. The emotional burden of such a life-changing surgery is more than enough to deal with and we would love to be able to ease the financial burden.
