Hi My name is Donna McGrath-Ward. As many of you are aware Laurie will be undergoing thyroid cancer surgery on Aug15/23. We all know how hard Laurie works on behalf of the HART Rescue and Sanctuary. It’s non stop fundraising , mostly by time consuming and physically exhausting auctions, draws, yardsales and furniture repurposing to raise the money desperately needed for expensive veterinary care, food, supplies, for 2 home based rescues and sanctuaries, also some foster care homes. This typically runs at an average cost of $5000.00 a month. My goal is to take that burden off of Laurie for a month or so post surgery to give her the rest she will need and the time to recuperate. She works so hard and really needs our support to help alleviate the stress of fundraising for 4-6 weeks. Post op instructions include no lifting, bending over, driving, regular lab work and or any treatment that may be necessary. We depend on Laurie without really thinking of the toll it takes on her physically and mentally so I’m hoping we can all step up and help her get through this as effortlessly as possible without the worry of keeping HART afloat.
