Hello we are some of Melissa’s good friends, our kids grew up with Charlie as neighborhood friends. We want to do all we can to help them on this tough journey. Recently, Melissa, Dave and Charlie were given some hard news as Charlie was diagnosed with Liver cancer in May which has spread all over his body.  Charlie is a 17yo senior and an avid Astronomer.  He has a long and hard fight ahead of him! Fibrolamellar carcinoma, or FLC, is a rare cancer of the liver that usually grows in teens and adults under 40 years old. This type of cancer is different than other types of liver cancer because it happens in people who have healthy livers. Other liver cancers tend to grow in people with livers that have been damaged.  Melissa is a teacher and Charlie’s primary caregiver, she had to cut her year short in order to be with Charlie and take him to treatment and all of his appointments at CHOP. He has a long road ahead for healing! We are asking to give anything you can in order to help Melissa with some of the medical and expenses that come with chemo treatment, all of the driving expenses to CHOP as well as medications. Melissa is unsure of the future and when she will be able to go back to work and keep a steady income! Charlie is a lover of all thing astronomy, he is a hard core Phillies fan and loves his cats! Please consider donating in order to help this family and continue the prayer chain ❤️
