Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read this. Most of you know me as Margot. I have a bachelor’s degree in social work, and healing/helping/being there for people is something I’ve been into since I was smol. The more days I spend on earth, the more I realize how healing can occur in ways you’d never expect. This little piece of metal has pried me out of my shell time and time again. It helped me to regulate my nervous system and process my feelings before I even knew what that meant. It has shown me how strong I am and simultaneously how soft. Fig Tree Studio is going to be a place for art and expression, for play, for all the ooey gooey sweet feelings that we all need to feel more often in this hectic world. My love for strippers has been at the forefront of my vision for this studio. I feel a deep gratitude for this industry and the ways it has changed me. The connection that strippers make with each other is nothing short of sacred. I want this studio to be a space free of judgement and shame. I don’t want a dress code that tries to make pole dancing ‘fitness’, even if that is a facet of it. I want my instructors to be able to teach skills and concepts that will help us at the club. And I want the studio to be a place for strippers and non-strippers to come together and be their authentic selves. We all have so much to learn from each other. Donations to the studio will go towards insurance for my instructors (which is extra important right now as the clubs have been so painfully slow) and supplies (poles, mats, mirrors, lighting, etc). We are set to open October 8th, so keep your eyes peeled for more updates via @figtreepole on Instagram. I’m funding this studio completely out of my savings and am figuring out everything as I go. It’s been a lot, and any support is appreciated. Please consider donating or sharing Thank you thank you thank you! -Margot
