Hi, my name is Amanda and I am fundraising for my Uncle Mack Quesenberry. He started to have unusual symptoms back in January 2024 and was sent to the hospital by an emergency squad from his primary care physician's office. He was then transported from Kings Daughter Hospital in Kentucky to Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He needed an emergency cervical fusion. After his cervical fusion, he went to rehab to recover. He was about to be released from physical therapy at the Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital when he suffered a massive heart attack. He was transferred back to Ohio State University where he underwent a triple bypass. Three days after he suffered from a major stroke and 8 blood clots broke off and scattered throughout his brain. He has been in a nursing home since then. Due to Medicare guidelines, insurance would only cover part A for a certain amount of time and we had to apply for Medicaid so he could continue to get physical, occupational and speech therapy in a long-term care facility. He is doing better but is still in need of rehabilitation to be able to get strong enough and regain memory to return home. We are trying to keep up with his monthly bills and pay his patient liability which is required by Medicaid. Unfortunately, his patient responsibility is nearly his entire monthly social security benefit. They only allow him to keep $50.00 from his SS check. I am trying to raise enough money to pay his bills so that he does not lose the home that he rents. If we cannot pay the rent, unfortunately, we will have to sell everything and vacate the home. He will then not have a home or anything to return to when he is released. He most likely will need 4-5 more months to get well enough to be released. Please consider donating. We appreciate anything you can do.
