Huge step forward for Linc. Again, the family thanks all of your prayers and thoughts during this surgery. UPDATE: 7/19/23: Linc is progressing in the right direction. RVAD has been removed and he is responding while awake. Continued prayers and good thoughts are needed. We are looking forward to good news in the upcoming days. Thank you to all that have donated in the support of Linc.❤️ The family is asking for donations for Linc, a U.S Navy Veteran, and a patient that is recovering from a heart transplant performed on July 9th, 2024 at the Richmond Veterans Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Since 2003 Linc began having heart issues because of an infection and family genetics. A defibrillator was installed prior to the May 2017 L-VAD pump, which is a mechanical pump installed into the heart to assist the circulation of blood. This itself was a major surgery, however provided Linc the mobility to live life to the fullest the last 6 years. On June 18th, 2024, Linc was admitted to the Richmond Veterans Hospital due to a stroke. No motor skills were damaged, but some speech and hearing damage were the result. The medical team concluded that there was an obstruction within in the L-VAD. This result left them with two options, replacing the L-VAD or a heart transplant. Final conclusion from the medical team was a heart transplant. July 9th, 2024, Linc was blessed with a donors heart and a transplant was performed again at the Richmond Veterans Hospital. Linc is progressing slowly in the right direction but will need more recovery and rehabilitation. The family sends continued prayers and comfort to the donors family, as they are grateful and blessed for the second chance of life for Linc. Thank you for the prayers and support these past few weeks and we appreciate the donations. All donations will go strictly to Linc and other expenditures that the Veterans Hospital do not cover.
