Bim's Tea Lounge was a backburner dream for our founder until a local bookstore allowed it to become a reality. Nestled in the back of The Unreliable Narrator they began providing a cozy nook for people to sit, and enjoy tea with their new books, look at art or explore the magical trinkets throughout the two shops. Success came quickly, much quicker than they expected! It left the shop in a tight position, at three months in operation it hadn't been open long enough for traditional funding, but needed to fund an expansion to keep going. In addition to outgrowing the living room-sized space Bim's had occupied (although we will seek to keep the living room energy!), we are also ready to provide more to those who seek me out! From a wider variety of beverages and snacks, retail items and plants, to a proper community space where we can host fun events. After a lot of work, our first space has not worked out and we are parting ways with the bookstore. So while Bim's is on the hunt for the perfect magical space, we need your support even more than before! Part of running a business is knowing when to pivot and adapt - and so we'll be doing just that! We are currently seeking a total amount of $40,000 to help with that adaptation and growth, starting with the fees around the acquisition of a new space and the equipment we'll need to be fully successful in it, and including the ability to bring on more tea brewista's than just Bim, so that we can have the space open for more hours and thus be available to more people. The dream is a magical space people can gather, socialize, or enjoy time alone late into the evening, which is outside the typical bar scene. An alcohol-free venue for a first date, a whimsical patio space for friends to catch up with each other, or just a comfortable place for a parent to sit while their kid explores the wonders throughout the shop. We want to host tabletop game nights, craft nights, book clubs, and more! This expansion would allow us to do all of these things and really grow into and with our community. Bim's just needs a little help from that same community to get there.
