I am raising money for my friend Hunter, and one of her cats, Annabelle. This past year Hunter has been expressing her worries about her relationship, but she remained by his side in hopes they could fix things. After exhausting, reoccurring arguments she recently decided to end the relationship on Saturday, July 29th. She offered to take him to his family's house 8 hours away because she knows he doesn't have anywhere to go, but he declined. She told him he had until August 31st to find another place to live, even though he was not on her lease. In the days following, she has been looking for apartments and paying for rental applications to move as soon as possible. While she was at the gym Friday, August 4th almost a week after they broke up, her ex-boyfriend went through her messages on her Apple Watch where he found messages with a platonic male friend Hunter works with. He assumed Hunter was unfaithful to him, and this sent him into a rage where he started slandering Hunter on Facebook and she was threatened by a family member. By this time she was halfway through her shift and needed to leave, but she was scared to go home. She met with our friend to talk before she went home to get her things. Once Hunter thought her ex was asleep she went to the house where she found all of her things vandalized and she was confronted by her ex who spit in her face. She left and stayed in a parking lot 20 minutes away until I woke up that Saturday morning to see her calls. Hunter had to work in a few hours so she came over to nap and shower. She told me she was going to her house to get more stuff that night and I asked her to not go alone, but Hunter is so strong so she went alone. She was also worried about her three cats who he had threatened to hurt before, so she didnt want to wait any longer for me to get there. She went to the house and her ex was asleep so she looked for her cats. In a closet she saw dents in the linoleum floor that she assumed were from her ex hurting her cat. There was still a small amount of blood still in one of the cuts/dents in the floor and a couple pieces of fur. She found Annabelle under the couch but not moving, and she thought the worst. She pulled her from out of the couch and found Annabelles paws and legs had been smashed and had cuts down to the bone, but she was still alive. One cat appeared to be fine, but her other cat is still missing. Hunter was hysterical so she left and called 911. She got a protective order and the cops came to make her ex leave. I went to her house with her while he left and stayed to help her clean everything up which took us a couple hours and many trips to thee dumpster. He had spray painted and wrote the male friends name on everything in her apartment including her couch, clothes, paintings, Polaroids, family photos, fish tank, etc. It honestly turned my stomach. We got Annabelle from under the couch and saw just how bad her legs were. I got a crate with a towel and placed it in front of her. She cried if Hunter moved her so we just let her rest, and while we were trying to figure out the best way to move her, she found the strength to try to get up and in the crate. She let out an awful noise as she fumbled halfway into the crate, and rested until she found the strength to step one more time into the crate. It makes me wonder how she even made it under the couch from where it happened. She finally felt safe in that crate and was going to get some help in a few hours once the vet opened. They found that in addition to the lacerations, all her toes on her front feet were broken and her back toes that support all her weight were also broken. Hunter used almost all of her money she was saving for a new apartment to pay for the vet bills today. Annabelle will also need to see a surgeon to fix all the broken bones which is why I'm asking for your help. All money raised will go towards Annabelle's vet bills and if there is any remaining money it will go towards replacing Hunters things that were destroyed beyond salvage.
