UPDATE: We would like to thank all of the generous contributors to Lala's fundraiser and to share an update on Lala's condition. After spending 18 days in a coma Lala started to show signs of awakening. She is in critical care after what has now been over 2 months since experiencing a medical emergency. After many tests the diagnosis was made of Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) which is a very rare condition in which the immune system attacks nerves. Symptoms and severity can vary in patients, unfortunately Lala is experiencing the most extreme and severe of these. The most notable is almost complete paralysis. This condition has no cure but is treatable, however, in Lala's case because of the severity of her symptoms improvement can take months. Lala's family and friends are by her side daily. The strength and love of her husband and 3 children and their faith in God to see Lala through this is truly admirable. We are still asking for donations to help Lala and her family with the loss of Lala's income, mounting medical bills, and for help with future medications she will need along with rehabilitation. Thank you so much for your consideration of this wonderful family. If you cannot help monetarily, prayers are just as valuable. Our beloved Eulalia “Lala” Jimenez-Santana started with Burger Me! 12 years ago and has been a loyal and the hardest working employee ever since. She is dearly cared for by all of her coworkers, friends and mostly her two daughters, son and husband. Last week “Lala” experienced a medical emergency and was taken to a local hospital where she remains in the ICU. There are many unknowns at this time regarding Lala’s health and how long her stay will be. Therefore, we are asking for donations to help support Lala and her family during this uncertain time and during her recovery. With mounting medical bills and her inability to work for the time being any amount will be greatly appreciated by Lala and her beautiful family. We look forward to hearing her gregarious laugh and seeing that big smile again while she is able to heal properly without the financial stress that, sadly, often accompanies illness. Thank you so very much for your kind consideration of Lala and her family
