Eugene has served as a delegate and officer proudly for 12 years. His only intention was to help people and his fellow officers. Sadly others use their positions for the wrong reasons. While hundreds of officers in all boros were disciplined and reprimanded , the Bronx district attorney decided he would use his authority to bring charges against all Bronx delegates. These charges forced Eugene and other delegates into an early retirement. No other DA chose this route. While career criminals walk our street this is what the Bronx DA wants to persue, proving their is no such thing as equal justice in the Bronx. Eugene served faithfully right up until his last night on the job. Unfortunately, breaking up a prisoner fight he fractured his hand possibly needing surgery. He is also expecting a second child in a few months leaving him heavy bills and insurance payments on top of being forced out of his job. Eugene has proven to be more of a man that the Bronx DA, the ADA's, and the popele in the department who persecuted him knowing they have all done the same or worse than what they charged him with. We all know we asked that same favor. For that I would stand by his side no matter what. Now I ask you to do the same. We will meet to celebrate Eugene and his outstanding career and service to us as a delegate.
