Dear Family, Friends & Kind Strangers, On Mother’s Day 2024 Erica checked herself in at the ER (for the second time) after days of excruciating painful headaches and other discomforts. An MRI would show a tumor the size of a tennis ball on the right side of her brain. She’d have to go into surgery to remove it as soon as possible. Soon after, she was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), an aggressive and terminal type of cancer of the brain. With the tumor now removed, her treatment consists of radiation and chemotherapy with hopes to keep this cancer “asleep” as long as possible as there is currently no cure for GBM. This formidable disease has put Erica’s young life, only 37 years old, on an uncertain path filled with unimaginable challenges and difficult decisions. Erica is a beautiful soul with a contagious smile that could light up a room. She is a devoted mother, loving daughter and sister and overall a kind human being. She has always been such a positive person and likes to see the glass as half full. Despite her diagnosis she continues to smile and stay positive during this difficult time especially for her children. Her diagnosis has shaken our world but we will not let this disease define her. Unfortunately, Erica had to stop working and the expenses are substantial. As we come together to support her in this fight, we humbly ask for your help and generosity. Your donation will allow Erica to focus on her treatment, healing and being with her children. No matter the amount, every donation will contribute to her fight against GBM. The funds raised will cover out-of-pocket medical bills, specialized treatments, and essential living expenses during this challenging time. Please share this campaign widely and consider making a donation. If you are unable to contribute financially, we ask that you keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. GBM does not discriminate against age, race or sex. Erica is an overall healthy , young (37) and active person and with this campaign we hope to raise awareness of this aggressive and terminal disease. What started off as a simple headache has changed the lives of so many. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are #EricaStrong
