Hi, my name is Angela and I have started this fundraiser as a means to help my mother (Cristal, 47) who in the past 6 months has gone through the unimaginable. For 30+ years, since the age of 17, my mother has struggled with her diabetes. When she hit her 40's, this illness attacked full force taking her kidney function, her eye sight, and her feet. Her health is now at a point of declining rapidly..She is now an amputee on dialysis, and her heart is beginning to fail. Since December 2024, such a short amount of time, my mother has suffered a cardiac arrest (on a ventilator for a couple of days), 3 hospitalizations for pneumonia, gangrene that lead to an amputation, a heart attack, an infection in her amputation site that almost led to sepsis and a small open wound she is still dealing with, as well as small strokes. It has been a very difficult time for her, for us. Of course, in the way that life tends to do..outside factors also begin to kick in. Her van has completely broken down, and due to now relying on one car, my brother is not able to work and help out. I ,her daughter, am her full time caregiver and don't work in order to be there for my mother. All of this, and many random expenses, as well as medications and gas to get her to and from the many appointments she has, has become a very heavy weight on her/our shoulders. Despite all of these circumstances, we stand on the promises of God and His provision..and are thankful for even the smallest amount donated. We are also very honest with ourselves and aware that we are also nearing the end..which is why it is also important to have money aside so that everything that comes with that is taken care of. We hope, however, that we still have an abundance of time with our mother, and that we are able to help her have a relaxed, worrisome free quality of life. Hola, mi nombre es Angela y comencé esta recaudación de fondos como un medio para ayudar a mi madre (Cristal, 47), quien en los últimos 6 meses ha pasado por lo inimaginable. Durante más de 30 años, desde los 17, mi madre ha luchado contra su diabetes. Cuando llegó a los 40 años, esta enfermedad atacó con toda su fuerza y le quitó la función renal, y afecto su vista y sus pies. Su salud ahora está en un punto de deterioro rápido. Ahora es una amputada en diálisis y su corazón está comenzando a fallar. En tan poco tiempo, mi madre ha sufrido un paro cardíaco (en un ventilador pulmonar durante un par de días), 3 hospitalizaciones por pulmonia, gangrena que llevó a una amputación, un infarto, una infección en el sitio de la amputación que casi provocó sepsis y una pequeña herida abierta con la que todavía está lidiando, asi como varios pequeños derrames cerebrales. Han sido momentos muy difíciles tanto como para ella, como para nosotros sus hijos. Por supuesto, en la forma en que tiende a ser la vida... también comienzan a aparecer factores externos. Su ven se descompuso por completo, y debido a que ahora dependemos de un automóvil, mi hermano no puede trabajar para cooperar. Yo, su hija, soy la que la cuida tiempo completo y no trabajo para estar ahí para mi madre. Todo esto, y muchos gastos aleatorios, así como medicamentos y gasolina para llevarla y traerla de las muchas citas que tiene, se ha convertido en un peso muy pesado sobre nuestros hombros. A pesar de todas estas circunstancias, nos mantenemos firmes en las promesas de Dios y Su provisión... y estamos agradecidos incluso por la cantidad más pequeña donada. También somos muy honestos con nosotros mismos y somos conscientes de que también nos estamos acercando al final... por eso también es importante tener dinero a un lado para que todo lo que viene con eso pueda ser ya resuelto. Esperamos, sin embargo, que todavía tengamos mucho tiempo con nuestra madre y que podamos ayudarla a tener una calidad de vida relajada, libre de preocupaciones. Dios los bendiga a todos, y que Su favor esté con ustedes y sus familias siempre.
