On Sunday, July 9, 2024, Micah Moses was working at Rumors in Chapel Hill, when he suddenly passed out and hit his head. After he awoke, he was driven to the hospital, everyone thinking that maybe he had a heat stroke or a concussion. After some evaluation, the doctor came back and told him that he suffered a minor heart attack. 18 hours and some tests later, they found a small leak in one of his heart valves. Micah is now scheduled for a slew of tests and is uncertain what the outcome will be. He may need invasive surgery or may need to completely change his lifestyle to heal his heart. Either way, this leaves him and his family in quite a lurch. Micah is the main caregiver of his family. His wife, Kelly, does work as a tattoo artist, but due to her chronic health conditions, she is unable to drive. Micah would drive her to and from work as much as she needed. Their son, Damian, is home-schooled. Without both parents there to care for him, Kelly might be unable to work. This means they will be without any steady income for the foreseeable future. They are also about to start a move from Mebane to Chapel Hill, one that they have been looking forward to very much. This move was supposed to start this Friday. We are hoping to hire movers to help Kelly with this difficult task since Micah will be unable to do this himself. Medical bills are already mounting. Micah's insurance won't kick in until he covers quite a large deductible, which will wipe out their savings. This is why we're holding this fundraiser. The Moses family needs our collective help and support to make it through this tough time as financially intact as possible. All proceeds will go toward their medical and personal bills, expenses, etc - anyone who knows the Moses family knows that Kelly and Damian will be in the hospital with Micah as much as possible.
