Hi, My name is Vicki and I’m one of Meggan’s aunts. On July 7th, Meggan had a floating candle explode and suffered severe burns covering 25% of her body. She was immediately rushed to the burn center at Regions Hospital, and has been there ever since. We are so thankful for the incredible expertise and care she’s been receiving, and are thankful that she’ll get through this❤️. I think I can speak for the entire family in watching Meggan, and all she’s been through this past month with surgeries, procedures and therapies, we’re constantly in awe of her strength and positive attitude as she works on healing and getting back to her normal life. I’m sharing this, as going through a journey of healing from an accident like this is not only a huge stressor physically, but financially as well. We know Meggan’s road to recovery will take quite some time.. In the coming months, Meggan will continue receiving therapies and attending doctor appointments. She will be using a neck brace and other bracing and wraps over the next year to help with healing grafts and reducing scarring. During this time, she will be unable to work and support herself financially, which has added an additional burden to her healing. Despite all of this, Meggan remains strong, positive and determined. Her resilience is truly inspiring, and she is putting in every effort to regain her independence.
