Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters, Join us with unwavering hope and love as we rally around our dear friend, John Westerman, as he courageously battles stage four colorectal cancer. As he approaches his 42nd birthday in August, John's wish is simple - to cherish many more joyous years with his beloved wife, Carol, and their three precious children - Cullen, Samuel, and Eleanor. In 2024, John's world was turned upside down when vague, persistent pain led to a life-altering diagnosis of cancer. Countless medical consultations left everyone searching for answers, until an MRI unveiled the tumor, bringing a mix of relief and fear for John and Carol - relief to understand the cause, yet fear as cancer took hold of their lives. For ten years, John served as a Houston Firefighter, and since 2018, he has been a Texas State Trooper, wholeheartedly committed to safeguarding others. However, cancer dealt a devastating blow, forcing him to take leave from his duties to embark on the grueling path of chemo, radiation treatments, and liver surgery at M.D. Anderson to combat metastasized tumors. Recent scans show that while his primary tumor hasn't grown, it also hasn't shrunk, and a new spot on his liver demands close attention. John remains determined to reclaim his health and treasure every moment with his beloved family. Through immense research, they have discovered the "Oasis of Hope" in Mexico, a cutting-edge cancer clinic with promising results for cases like John's. The recommended four to six-week treatment plan could be the key to eradicating this relentless disease and bringing John back to his cherished family. But we need your urgent help! With all his sick leave and paid time off exhausted, John's family faces a financial burden while he seeks treatment abroad. Unfortunately, insurance offers no relief, and the burden of the entire cost rests on their shoulders. With each contribution, no matter the size, you become a powerful force of hope, shining a light on John's path towards healing. Your belief in his strength fuels our determination to stand by him through thick and thin. With your support, we can help John face the challenges ahead with courage and tenacity, knowing he is not alone in this battle. With immense gratitude and hope in our hearts, The Wilhite Family and the entire Westerman Support Team
