Hello! I’m making this LFEBridge for my sweet niece Ella (Eleanor) Hobson. On Sunday, July 2nd Ella’s family dog attacked her. Ella’s dad Brady pulled the dog off her. My sister Alexa scooped her up and they rushed Ella to Memorial Hospital in Jasper. Ella’s injuries were mostly confined to her face, except for one spot on her shoulder. Memorial could not do surgery on her. They were going to send her to Evansville, but Evansville said they couldn’t do it either. Memorial then contacted children’s hospitals in Indiana. No hospital in Indiana could take Ella because of the extent of her injuries and the surgeons needed. Ella was then taken by ambulance to Norton’s Children Hospital in Louisville from Memorial. Ella had a ENT doctor (for her tear duct), a pediatric plastic surgeon. She underwent surgery Sunday evening and was sent home late that night. Thankfully her eyes (eye balls) and air ways were okay. The worst areas were her chin, nose, and above her left eye (eye brow). When they asked the doctor how many stitches the surgery took, the doctor said “a lot a lot a lot. I stopped counting.” She will probably be left with a notch in her nose and a indention/deep scar on her eye, along with a few other scars. She may have to have another surgery for her eyebrow. They have a follow up appointment in Louisville soon, so they will know more then. Ella is one strong baby!!! I am hoping this will help relieve some of the stress for my sister and her fiancé. Ella’s medical bills are expected to be high. If you can afford to donate, please do! If you can’t afford to help, please just pray for Ella and her parents. I know seeing their child go through this has been extremely hard for them. This is what most parents nightmares are made of.
