On January 13, 2015 ( on Edie's 54th birthday) she suffered a brain aneurysm & stroke. She has endured two craniotomies and a cranioplasty, and since these surgeries has undergone nine separate procedures in attempts to help heal her scalp which included three in-patient surgical, one out-patient surgical, and five other sets of either stitches or staples, but unfortunately the neurosurgeon determined that her plate was 'clinically' infected and it had to be removed on the almost nine month anniversary that this horrible nightmare began...   It will be approximately six more weeks before a new plate can be emplaced. Edie is on very expensive antibiotics, but so far they are very effective, thank God!!    Edie has been bounced back and forth from the major hospital she initially was treated at  to a long-term rehab facility, and every time this happens there are high fees to be able to keep her room ( in the rehab facility) because insurance won't pay for both rooms. She has become like family to her caregivers at the rehab center so it's very important to keep this room for her while she's transferred to the major hospital when nurmerous complications have arised!...   One can only imagine how these out-of-pocket expenses are accumulating, not to mention the fact that it's 70 miles ONE way from her home to the hospital that her husband travels DAILY, so wear and tear on the vehicle and gas fill-ups must be extremely costly as well!...   This is a very humble and private family, but I'm going to take it upon myself to share the fact that this is a military family that really deserves some love from us!!! Edie did a superb job raising their son while her husband served our country for almost 24 years and retired as a Battalion Command Sergeant Major after being deployed in Saudi Arabia for Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Bosnia, and Afghanistan twice, as well as doing overseas tours in Germany and Korea twice!!! It would be an awesome way to show our appreciation & support for this great hero & veteran in (their) time of need!!!...   Edie has a long road ahead of her, but she's a fighter! Please keep her and her family in your prayers continuously!   Please help spread this go-fund-me outreach for this family; it will be an on-going need for them! We hope to get Edie home, and when that time arrives there will be great need as well because their home will need renovations to accomodate Edie's disability. Trust me, no gift you can give is too small, and EVERY gift you can give will be extremely appreciated!  Thank you all for your kindness and help for these precious friends!!!
