Hello friends and family, Rob and myself are hoping to raise funds to help us throughout this unthinkable time as new parents. Easton was born a healthy and happy baby boy at the time. However, during his delivery, he was exposed to a blood infection that we were unaware of. He is currently receiving medical treatment at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, IL. After being home for 2 days, (Wednesday July 5th and Thursday July 6th) we noticed something was very wrong with our little boy. We immediately took him to Silver Cross’s Emergency Department Friday morning on July 7th due to him waking up that morning coughing up bloody saliva. We had no idea what was happening. While in the Emergency room at Silver Cross, he almost died. It was the most horrific thing we have ever experienced. He was intubated there and later transported via ambulance to Lurie Children’s Hospital to their NICU for specialized care. We have learned through his blood cultures of his blood infection. He is being treated appropriately for the bacteria found and we pray constantly for his recovery. We hate having to ask for help but we don’t know what else to do during this horrible experience. If anyone can help us with anything at this time we are externally grateful. Easton is a strong boy and we hope to take him home again with us one day. Thank you all, Rob & Nicole
