Dear Family and Friends, Donna Doughty Wynn, a fighter in the truest sense, needs more than just our prayers. She needs our unwavering support, both emotionally and financially. In February of 2024, Donna received the devastating news that she had been diagnosed with AML Leukemia, a battle that no one should ever have to face. During these past few months, the outpouring of love through cards, texts, and calls has been nothing short of remarkable. Your heartfelt gestures have not only touched her soul but have also kept her spirits up! Every single word of encouragement has become a beacon of hope, guiding Donna through the darkest nights. Donna's journey led her to the Tupelo Medical Center, where she spent three months treating this cancer. However, her path has now taken her to M. D. Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston, TX— renowned for its expertise in battling this aggressive form of leukemia. We feel so fortunate she is there as they are recognized as one the best cancer centers in the world for AML Leukemia! Accepted as a patient on June 11, 2024, Donna's amazing team of doctors conducted a detailed analysis of her condition, tailoring a treatment plan to address her unique needs. The results thus far have been phenomenal! After just two and a half weeks at M.D. Anderson, Donna has made the transition to outpatient status. While this is a huge step forward, her treatment plan requires visits to the hospital every other day. This new chapter necessitates finding housing in Houston, adding yet another layer of financial strain. Her current estimate of time in Houston with chemotherapy, treatment, and stem cell transplantation is 4-6 months. Although her team of doctors are working with drug suppliers to minimize the extreme prices of the needed medications, their exorbitant costs, combined with the additional living expenses in Houston have placed an overwhelming burden on Donna and her loving husband, Bobby, in addition to maintaining their home in Starkville, MS. In this time of unimaginable stress, we’d like to ask that you consider making a donation. Your contribution, no matter how large or small, will serve as a lifeline, a ray of hope amidst this storm. By joining together, we can lift the weight and stress of this hardship from their shoulders and offer them a chance to focus on what's important - the battle for Donna's life. Please, open your hearts and extend a helping hand to Donna and Bobby. Your donation, in this critical moment, is an investment in their journey toward healing. Let us rally around Donna, a woman whose faith, strength, and resilience have inspired us all!
