My name is Kay Waldrep and I have never had to ask for help until recently. In September of 2024, I lost my eyesight due to an issue with high blood pressure and diabetes. I was in the process of having laser treatments on both eyes and was making progress when diabetes complicated my life again. This time I had triple bypass surgery. I coded several times, but God is good, and I survived with the help of wonderful doctors and nurses. While in the hospital recovering from that, the doctors realized that one of my legs might have to be amputated…again because of my diabetes. Thankfully, they have just completed the amputation procedure and I only lost one leg. I am in rehab and doing very well. But my life has changed considerably. I must figure out how to support and sustain myself going forward. I will have months of recovery and adjustments to my new lifestyle. I am so grateful that I have been given this second chance. I was in the cleaning business for many years, but I cannot do that anymore. First step is to get through rehab and then home. My medical bills are mounting and will continue for at least the next year. I am asking for donations to help pay my medical costs and living expenses. I am excited to see what lies ahead including a job that I can do from home with my disabilities. I would appreciate any financial assistance that is sent to me through this LFEBridge Me page. Any donations I receive will be used to pay my medical expenses as well as my monthly household bills until I can get well enough to get a job that I can do from home. I ask that you pray for the people I worked for, my friends and the wonderful doctors and nurses that have been such a blessing to me. Please continue to pray for me and my family as we work through this situation. Never take diabetes for granted! It can destroy your life in many ways and without warning.
