Hi everyone! My name is Hope. I have put this LFEBridge together in order to honor my brother who has been going through cancer treatments. Dane has had cancer since we were 14 years old (if you don’t know, we are triplets, so we are the same age). Cancer became a huge part of his life after his first diagnosis of stage 1 Hodgkins Lymphoma (which is manageable, but unfortunately not curable). After intense chemo therapy and surgeries which rendered him so weak and sick he couldn’t even shower or dress himself, the cancer finally shrunk and was dormant for almost 10 years. Unfortunately, Dane’s cancer has grown again and this time it is stage 4, along with another stage 2 cancer. The doctors discovered this second form of cancer most likely came due to the intense chemotherapy he went through as a teen. The chemotherapy he went through at 14 was so intense that it caused his immune system to be that of an 80 year old man, which means, he was much over-treated. Even worse, this second form of cancer is (although manageable), also incurable. Just in the past couple of months Dane has had 6 surgeries, has been in the hospital for a week and a half, has gone near septic, has had to leave a gaping hole in his chest open for an infection to heal, has received antibiotics, two new port placements, and countless rounds of chemo. And now they have just found a THIRD form of cancer in his blood that they are running tests on. To say the least, my brother has gone through a lot the past few months and even years. Fighting this unending battle has been difficult, but what has encouraged me and so many others is his unrelenting joy and contentment, dispute the horrible cards that have been dealt to him. He has been nothing but encouraging to me and a light to others and it’s so incredible to witness. Dane is one of the most sincere and strongest people I know and I’m so proud to call him my brother. ❤️ Living by yourself in Dallas is not easy when you are going through two different types of chemo treatments (and now possibly 3). Just making ends meet has been tough, due to the hard balance of treatment and work. It would be so kind if you could spare anything to help pay for necessities and get by while he is going through treatment. Thank you so much for everyone that has supported my sweet brother in this incredibly difficult journey, whether it has been through your love, generosity, kindness, or thoughts and prayers - my family and I have appreciate it and I know Dane is so so grateful. ❤️
