Hi, my name is Jessica. I created this LFEBridge page on behalf of our family to help raise money for our bother/son/uncle Jason, to help pay for his unexpected medical expenses. For those of you that don’t know, Jason underwent a six-hour open heart surgery on June 29 to replace the left ventricle valve and have a left ventricular assistance device (LVAD) attached to his heart. Jason recently learned he was born with a heart defect where 2 of the 3 flaps were fused together and that had progressed over time to acute congestive heart failure. The LVAD is doing the work for the left side of the heart. Over time there is a chance the LVAD can heal the damage to the heart. There is also the possibility of a heart transplant down the road. This has all been scary and overwhelming. Jason is 42 and has medical insurance through work but that will expire in a few weeks. COBRA coverage is available but is very expensive. The surgery, hospital stay and continued care will be a major expense. Please consider donating to help ease the financial burden of this scary time. If you would like to get in contact with Jason please do so through Shannon Carbone (Hellem). Thank you for your support.
