Update on 7/16 from Mary: Heaven has received one of the best this evening. Please cover our mom with prayers as we just don't even know where to begin without him. Mom and Daddy had the kind of marriage that just doesn't happen very often. She will be lost, but we're going to be with her every step of the way. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Karl has touched so many of our lives. Let's now give back to help his family. Mary's words are below: On behalf of our family; I wanted to thank you all for the prayers, emotional support, and love that we have received while enduring this unexpected ordeal. It has truly shaken us to our core. We know our daddy is precious to us, but we never knew just how much of an impact he had on others. This being said, we feel that it is only right to let everyone else know what has transpired over the past few days. After having extensive surgery on Thursday, we knew he was in for the fight of his life. Daddy went into cardiac arrest on Saturday night and was resuscitated. He never regained consciousness after that. His MRI showed extensive brain damage and his quality of life is very poor. If you know daddy, you know this is not the kind of life he would ever want. He has always thought of others over himself, and never thought he was worthy enough for this outpouring of support. He is moving to palliative care, and they are keeping him comfortable until he decides he is ready. It's always been his terms, and his timing so this is nothing new to us! Please continue to wrap our mom in your prayers as well. This is the love of her life and it's unbearable. Saying things will be different is an understatement. We're going to struggle, we're going to worry about making financial ends meet, but we're going to get through this together as we always have.
