Hi. I am Dawn Biederman- Chaney, and I’ve started this LFEBridge to help us while my husband, Gary, is recovering from a stroke he had on July 2, 2024. Gary collapsed and was later diagnosed with bilateral (in both eyes) vision loss, due to a vertebral artery dissection, (stroke), involving the posterior cerebral artery. He was also found to have a hole in his heart, which facilitated the stroke. Everyone who knows me, knows that I absolutely hate asking for help, as I am a pretty private person. It is hard to do this, but we need help. So many of our friends and family have asked what they could do to help, and right now, besides your ongoing prayers and sending of good mojo, we need financial assistance, to help with bills, medical and other, medical equipment, gas for appointments, etc. We are seeing a social worker to assist us in filing for disability (at least temporarily) until Gary heals. The doctors cannot say how much Gary’s eyesight will improve, so we do not know when or even if he will be able to return to work. The social worker has advised that even if Gary is approved, (and we can’t think why he shouldn’t since he has worked since he was about 16), it will be 3 to 4 months or more before he receives his benefits. We’ve been through this before with Garrett’s illness, so I know we’ll get through it, but it will be a long process. If you can’t help financially, please keep us in your hearts. Love to you all. Thank you.
