On Tuesday May 30th, 2024 lives were turned upside down. My mother, Nicole Fredrick was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, the most common form of breast cancer. Although this weighed heavy on her, she immediately started her research to find the best treatment. These past few weeks have been filled with numerous hospital visits where she has met with her surgeon, her oncologist and her patient navigator. Thus far she has needed lab work, MRI’s, Petscans, CAT scans, the list goes on. On Friday June 22nd, she under went a procedure to put in her chemo port, and on Friday July 7th she endured her first chemo session. Nicole will undergo chemo every 3 weeks until she reaches 6 sessions in hopes to reduce the size of her mass and surgery to follow. If you know Nicole, you know she is a mother, a wife, a grandma, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. She is thoughtful, kind, and her laugh is contagious. I am making this go fund me to help ease the weight of the stress that will come from the medical bills she will receive, and the work she will need to miss. There will be days, like today, where she will be too fatigued to move, and won’t have the energy to cook a meal. Any contribution to support her is unexplainably appreciated and if you are unable to do so, please send positive thoughts and prayers her way as we navigate through this trying time. Her fight is our fight!
