Help Girmaw, a 16-Year-Old Boy from Ethiopia, Get Life-Saving Surgery Girmaw Mamuye Kasa is a 16-year-old boy from rural Ethiopia who is battling two serious heart conditions requiring immediate open-heart surgery. The cost of surgery is beyond his family's means. Girmaw's family comes from a humble background and lives in a remote area where medical resources are scarce. He can either receive the needed surgery at a private hospital in the capital Addis Ababa at a cost of approx. $10,300 USD. Girmaw's surgery is a matter of life and death. Without urgent surgery, he has a poor chance of surviving. He does not have much time and desperately needs your help. Girmaw's plight has touched hearts far beyond his village. On July 15, 2024, he bravely shared his story on Admass Radio in Atlanta Georgia, shedding light on the challenges his family faces in securing the medical care he deserves. Upon hearing the story and assessing the patient's financial and medical background, a volunteer surgical team at Healing Valves Ethiopia in collaboration with a sister organization Healing Valves North America has set up this LFEBridge campaign to raise funds to save Girmaw’s life.
