Hi, my name is Jaclyn Kokat. I am setting this fundraiser up to help one of my absolute most precious friends and her family. You see, this family consisting of Austin, Sam, Carter(5) and Colton(3) live for their country. Austin is in the Navy and has been for 10 years, he recently, July 20, 2024 just signed up for another 5 years of enlistment. He is currently stationed in California and has been for the last 2 years. This is important because Sam, Carter and Colton have been living in Illinois away from Austin the last two years. Sam is a hair stylist(which is how I met her) and the absolute most amazing Mom to her two boys. Austin is a spectacular husband and father. This past Friday July 21, 2024 Austin had a freak accident and fell off a horse. Sam was with him riding on a different horse. He was airlifted to UCLA with numerous skull fractures, a fracture in his C6 and is currently on oxygen. He will face a long recovery, however, he is a strong willed person and will get through this. Sam and Austin are currently still in CA at UCLA hospital away from their two boys, Sam is trying to figure out a way to get Austin back to Illinois. These two people would give you the shirt off their back and I am asking you to consider helping them out with medical expenses, their trip back to IL, and any future needs they may have. It is unknown at this time when Sam will be able to return to work and what the recovery process will look like for Austin. His return to work is unknown. Their two young boys have autism and are also in need of special care, so being away from their parents right now is extremely stressful. Anything you can do to help this family out would be greatly appreciated by them. Thank you.
