Dee Dee was one of the first friendly faces I found when I moved to Winston-Salem in 1999.  Her exuberant personality and profound sense of "keeping it real" won me over immediately.  She has been my friend, and a good friend to a hundred others, since that time.  By early adulthoood, she had experienced heartache and the unimaginable loss of both of her parents too soon-- including her beloved mother to breast cancer.  And then she reconnected with Eric--the college friend that became more.  The timing was right and he was/is the type of man that none of us believed really existed in this world.  He treated/treats her like the queen she (and we) always knew she is.  And she fell deeply in love like never before. These two people have faced insurmountable obstacles  too numerous to name--and impossible to believe.  Yet their faith in God and their love for each other perserveres.  Djakarta has worked to protect the children of Forsyth County for over 15 years, and together they have both contributed to the betterment of their family, friends and church community.  I've truly never seen or known of anything like it.As they prepare for surgery #5, they have already faced 3 types of cancer, and the tragic loss of Eric's mother to the same disease.  Yet these two continue to keep the faith and fight. Please help ease the burden of the costs of medical care to preserve their lives together.  There are no two people who deserve this more.Djakarta has 2,826 friends on Facebook. If each of us donated $25, we would decrease the burden of mounting medical bills on an already stressful time.  I've set the goal at $50,000.   We should surpass this goal.  As we enter the time of Thanksgiving and Christmas, I challenge each of you to make this your cause for the season. In honor of our friends, Djakarta and Eric,Tara Bohley
