On July 5th, 2024 at 6:00am the Rapho Township maintenance building in Manheim, PA exploded. The explosion has destroyed homes and displaced families nearby. Gary Devonshire watched his home get destroyed in real time on the security camera. He was 200 miles away from home and terrified. It was a blessing no one was home and no other families were injured. Gary is living out of a hotel with a microwave and mini-fridge. Gary has two 10 yr old kids. When he is with them, Gary is doing his best to keep them happy and their minds off everything. They are devastated about the loss of their home. His kids are very upset that they cannot go home to their own rooms. Gary is unsure what will be salvaged. The home has collapsed ceilings, shifted walls and damage everywhere. All of their belongings are in the house covered in debris. The struggle has been a rollercoaster of emotions for all of them. He is needing to buy daily essentials for himself and the kids. Many meals will have to be eaten out. It is uncertain how long he will be in a hotel. Gary is not one to ask for help. He is someone who is always willing to help a stranger and doesn’t expect anything in return. So, I am asking on his behalf. Anything you could do to help would be greatly appreciated. I thank you for your generosity and support. Photos of house
