Hello, My name is Jamace Dickerson. I am a single mother of 2 boys. I have stage 4 invasive ductal carcinoma with Mets in my lymph nodes, my lung, and chest wall. I am on the oral Chemo Ibrance and Letrozole which has kept my cancer in check and it hasn’t spread anywhere else. Unfortunately Social security medical determinations deems me in remission because the cancer hasn’t spread. You can never be in remission with stage 4 cancer. With them canceling my benefits, I lost my health insurance and benefits payments. I am currently appealing the decision but they can take as long as they want. Most appeal processes take between 3 to 6 months. I do not have that time. My oral chemo cost over 16k out of pocket. I used to be a teacher, if I go back to work to supplement my income I could put myself at risk of catching a minor cold or flu which will be 10 times worse and could kill me. It will also make me start from scratch and apply for disability all over again. If I got accepted by applying all over again there is a 6 month wait for benefits from the day you quit working. I am asking for help to pay for my bills like rent. My boys and I live in a micro studio. This is our last chance at a home. If I can pay rent in August I will get evicted. If you can help please help.
