My name is Karen Foutch. My son, my Marine, Lcpl Devon Foutch, was in a horrible car accident March 5, 2024. He suffered a major Spinal Cord injury and is paralyzed from the neck down and ventilator dependent. He has an amazing spirit and determination to recover and his main goals are to breathe again on his own and gain some movement in his arms atleast. This is a very long journey and we have had battles all along the way. Devon has stayed positive, makes everyone laugh and refuses to give up. This kid has charmed everyone he meets. Due to military red tape and a hacked sheriff's department database we have been on our own to find and pay for any type of rehabilitation/medical center, we have had no help from the VA nor will they accept him due to his vent dependency. Any type of VA assistance is still months away. We will be going home soon, as our options have been depleted but we do not have any modifications done or any type of therapy equipment to help him on his road to recover. We will have to pay out of pocket the many things he needs just to be home, we need to have doors widened and ramps just so that he can go inside. We need a generator, since our power goes out during storms and he is vent dependent. This is just the very basics, we still need to have the bathrooms modified, but we will manage until we can afford that. We need a modified vehicle so that we can get him to his many doctor appointments. There is so much, it's overwhelming. We are asking for your prayers during his recovery and thank everyone so much for so much support!
