“Dee” is full of love and happiness. He loves to talk sports, lift weights, works hard, and is one of those guys that will give you the shirt off his back. He is a dedicated husband and family man, working endless hours to provide for our family. When it comes to family, he is the proud father to our 10-month-old daughter, Delylah. As as husband, he does whatever it takes to make sure Lylah and I are supported, and ensures we feel his love and support. As a leading technician, he takes his work very seriously and appreciates his clients. He goes above and beyond for his customers making sure the job is completed correctly. This dedication and work ethic is what served him well in high school, where he starred at runningback, and eventually landed him a college scholarship. High school is also where I met Dee. We were 'high school sweethearts', and it felt pretty obvious early on that we were soulmates. Something that sounds silly to say at 15/16 years old, but it was so easy to love him, and welcome his love in return. 12 years later, we are married and proud parents to Delylah. Recently, Dee was admitted to the emergency room with concerns of fever, nausea, and vomiting. What was thought to be a nasty bug quickly led doctors deciding between meningitis and encephalitis as the root cause. He remained in the ICU over a week and a half and had to be intubated twice due to difficulty breathing. He had constant imbalances with his electrolyte levels, blood pressure, and body temperature. To this day, doctors are still running as many tests as they can, along with blood cultures, to determine the final diagnosis. We are all just wanting to know how this happened and receive an official diagnosis. As you can imagine, being in the hospital for nearly a month has led to skyrocketing medical bills and trouble with our monthly bills. If you're reading this, I ask you to please support our LFEBridge and donate whatever you can. Above all, I ask you for prayers. I know God has a plan for us, and I know he made Dee strong for a reason. It wasn't football, or his job, it was because he knows Dee will get through this. We look forward to the day where he is back to being the dedicated father, husband, and friend we all know and love. Anything helps. May God bless you! Love Always, Deshjion, Katie, and Delylah Whitlock
