Hi, my name is Paula and I'm fundraising for my dad, Paul. I am thankful that you are taking a moment to read my story. My dad has worked very hard to support our family. He is always thinking and doing things for others (friends, relatives, acquaintances, associates, etc) however appears to have forgotten one person...himself. He lost his wife 9 years ago, who was his greatest supporter. He has been living with my husband and me. However, my dad still struggles to meet his needs. Throughout his life, my dad appears to not have had the time, money or attention to go to a dentist regularly. In the past few years, he has had challenges with finding the right insurance that would help with his major dental work. He has decay and infection and needs several teeth pulled out. He needs a bridge to allow chewing after some teeth are pulled. He'll need crowns and more. He'll need a couple of implants. The dentist recommended more implants, however, the cost would be more than we can afford. Therefore, he will have to settle for the replacement of implants, which are partials. The one good thing for now is he has no pain. Though he really needs to get the major work done so that the infection, etc does not get worse. He found a dental group that wants to help fix his teeth and give him a teeth-filled smile, but the cost is outrageous for insurance and him. My dad is very modest and tries his best to be as independent as possible. My dad's future is bright. He has volunteered at his church and helped out at senior centers and wants to continue these activities. He wants to continue bowling with a group and participate in his three grandchildren's lives. All these activities take personal appearance to heart, including a personal smile! Times are hard now, but if you can, please help us fulfill my dad's dreams and goals by donating to our fundraiser. The donations will help with my dad's major dental work costs and give him the confidence to present to you all a teeth-filled beautiful smile! Thank you.
