Denise Delisets Hargreaves Fundraising is a tough task when you know your friend has cancer, stage 4 terminal cancer at that. We have had a few of our fellow Chieftains go through this fight, we know what she’s up against. We are asking our Ponaganset family to support Denise as we support all of our community. Denise needs to convert her home to be more Handicap Accessible. She needs several things to make this happen. The big-ticket item is the front stairs to her home. There literally aren’t any at this moment. The ambulance had to come the other day and it was very difficult due to the lack of access (no stairs) and maneuvering around inside her home. It’s an older home in New Hampshire. She is usually ok because as we all know Denise, She is one stubborn ole goat! However, this cancer is eventually going to beat her and it’s gaining speed and well, we all know cancer and IT SUCKS!! We should have done fundraising a while ago to help ease the stress of the bills, since the bills still come in, they don’t care if you have cancer or not.. they still say, PAYMENT DUE.. Denise’s back story; Denise was diagnosed with cancer in Oct of 2024. She has cancer in several places, all the places that cancer is not the places that is good to have cancer. Brain, lung, bone and lymph nodes. Keep in mind, Denise never smoked a day in her life. Was more than half done with her schooling to become a Nurse Practitioner. She finally had to step away from her full-time job as a registered nurse. She was the OR Charge Nurse at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital. Why did a person as wonderful as her, great mom, sister, daughter, and friend get stage 4 TERMINAL cancer? There is NO Cure? It makes no sense to me. But a donation of any kind can make the time she has that much more comfortable. Unfortunately, we are all going to be saying our personal prayers and goodbyes whether we deny it or not. I definitely suggest you reach out if you know her or even just wanted to shoot her an email. She would love that. She misses everyone -and traveling currently isn’t an option. We are so thankful for any money that is contributed to Denise to make her more comfortable and to help her not fall. If there is anything left after the custom alterations are made to her home she has plenty of medical bills, heating bills etc. I know it won't go to waste, she will be grateful beyond measure.
