On Wednesday June 28th, 2024: our lives changed forever. Demetrus aka Dman is only 22 years old and was the motorcyclist in the accident that took place on Southway St in Canton Ohio last week. Everyone should know that Demetrus is like a son and brother to us even though he already has a great momma. This family never asks anyone for financial help but in a time like this we don’t have the option not too. Donations will go directly for his bills and anything he needs during this time, any amount will be helpful and greatly appreciated. The doctors told us that they don’t believe he will wake up. But we knew he’s a fighter. He is awake alert and knows what’s going on. As of right now he is quadriplegic and has undergone many surgeries. He is on a ventilator and the only movement he has is with his eyes. Multiple blinks is "yes” and 1-0 blinks is “no”. Right now we have been spending time with him and trying to help him communicate, we are working on getting him an iPad Pro which has an eye tracking feature and Hawkeye app that would allow him to speak through his eyes after he’s strong enoughand hopefully get him a better system set up for communication. We are beyond blessed to have him here with us still. He is a strong young man with a very very long road ahead of him… His injuries include: Brain bleed C1-C4 compressive hematoma (spine) Aortic dissection (tear in aorta) Collapsed lung (left) Left 10th rib fracture Pelvic hematoma Right acetabular fracture (pelvic fracture) Right sacral fracture (tailbone) Right tibial fracture (broken leg with bone displacement).
