Hi my name is Dawn & I’m fundraising for my mother-in-law Debbie. On August 2nd instead of celebrating her birthday, Debbie will be prepping for another surgery. Last year Debbie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, Transitional Cell Carcinoma. At that time the cancer was only in her ureter tube. She had surgery to remove the tumor almost a year ago. Some complications led to emergency surgery, an extended stay in the hospital, and a slower recovery than originally expected. However, the doctor was confident they had gotten it all & Debbie was seen every few months for a recheck. Her last follow-up was in April & at that time she was "cancer free". On June 18th Debbie started experiencing some of the same symptoms she had last year before the cancer was diagnosed. After some calls her August follow-up was pushed forward to the end of June. Blood was drawn, a CT & cystoscopy were done & it was confirmed, the cancer is back. The cancer is again in her ureter tube but is also now in her kidney. Due to the aggressiveness of this cancer removal is the best option. On August 3rd Debbie will be having surgery to remove the ureter tube & her kidney. At this time we do not know if chemo or radiation will be needed. Debbie is the sole income in her home where she is the guardian of 2 of her grandchildren. She is still paying off the medical bills from the first round of cancer & now there are more coming in. Unfortunately I can't take away the cancer, I can't take away the fear, and I can't fight the physical fight for her. I am hopeful that I can at least raise some funds to ease the financial burden Debbie is facing. I am hoping that with your help when they ask for partial payment upfront while checking in Thursday that we can take that stress away. Debbie needs to put all her energy & focus on fighting cancer NOT on mounting bills & time off of work. If you can't help financially PLEASE say a prayer, send positive vibes, and share. Thank you
