Want to join us in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit the Deacons Union and Women's Auxiliary which was established in 1964, and any donations will help make an impact. (2) other Unions local unions, The Deacons' Association of New Jersey, Inc. and The Baptist Deacons Alliance of Central New Jersey were formed out of this Union. Out of this Union and building, the Monmouth Bible Institute was formed. MBI, as it has been known, was formed for further instruction of the Local and State church members, beyond Sunday School. MBI prepared those who were interested in teaching Sunday School. Later, MBI produced a number of Pastors, Preachers, Ministers, Deacons and Trustees. The immediate need is for replacement of Fire Alarm System, along with the electrical to bring the system to code for Howell Township. Also the developement of the corner property to include subdivision of buildable lots along with an updated facility to house our Union, MBI, and a Multipurpose facility. We are currently working with both an Engineer and an Attorney to develop the 10.4 acres into 3/4 (2) acre lots. The remaining property would be used to house the updated struture. Our next steps are to have engineer to present plan to planning board. Until we are able to build another facility, in order to make the current space rentable in the summer time, we will need to repair our Air Conditioning sytem. To avoid our elderly membership performing parking duties, we need to repave and paint our parking lot. Our annual property and casualty insurance is over $10,000 annually. We were able to maintain this expense during Covid with the help of a SBA Loan of $24,000. The loan payment is $110 per month, until loan is repaid. Lastly, there is a house on the property, that is vacant. The house has been deemed by the township as abandoned. This will require the building to be torn down.
