Nineteen million children suffer from visual impairment worldwide. Every single year, another half a million children join them. 50% of those children who become blind end up dying within the following year, while those who survive are stripped of opportunities in education and employment. The worst part? 80% of this visual impairment in children is fully preventable and treatable. Hello everyone. My name is Ameena Tanaaz Chowdhury, and I am a youth leader at Distressed Children and Infants International (DCI). DCI is an incredible nonprofit dedicated to ending the poverty cycle for children. In this fundraiser, I wanted to help support their efforts in preventing blindness. This is where you come in. With your donation, we can continue to help: Organizing eye screening test camps in remote rural areas and urban slums Providing corrective treatment, especially for refractive error and cataract surgery Providing free eyeglasses to children in need Educating the masses on eye health and treatment Please help us reach our goal of raising $3,000 by the end of November 2024. Just $100 can give a child the gift of vision, so please donate and spread the word as much as you can. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the world!
