On June 22, 2024, Rachel received a call from her husband, Dave’s work, informing her that they thought Dave was having a stroke. After arriving at the hospital tests were ran, and the results were unexpected. Dave was in fact NOT having a stroke, but rather the result showed that Dave had a brain tumour. At this point, Dave was rushed from Chatham Kent health alliance to Windsor regional hospital where he underwent brain surgery. The results are what no family ever wants to hear. It has been confirmed that the tumour is cancerous. Dave has glioblastoma cancer in the brain. They will undergo six weeks of chemo and radiation both given five days a week and off on weekends. The Lewis family has a lot on their plate and could use some help. Rachel has already been off work due to personal reasons and their daughter Addison just graduated grade 12 and is heading off to school in London in September. As we all know, bills do not stop due to illness, and this family needs our help. Anything that you were able to donate will be greatly appreciated and if you are unable to donate sharing, this post would be greatly appreciated as well. We asked for nothing but positive prayers for this family as they battle through an extremely difficult situation. Dave’s cancer is in-curable however we are waiting on staging.
