I am Rev. Cyprian Yobera. Daniel Karichu and his family are good friends of my family and I. Daniel has Polycystic Kidney Disease - a degenerative condition that has advanced to the point where he needs a kidney transplant. Daniel has been liaising with the NHS, looked at the option of direct family donation in the UK and also tried to get a number of willing candidates from Kenya to come to the UK. Unfortunately, these have not amounted to much because of barriers such as; the huge challenge of tissue matching, visa application and denials, among others challenges. After all their research and given the urgency of the matter, Daniel’s family decided that going private and having the operations carried out in India is the best and most cost-effective option. Any amount you give towards this effort will go a long way towards the essential total cost that comes to £33,000. “India has a great organ transplant programme and we want to make sure that dad is in the hands of people that he trusts and he is happy with.”
