On July 7th, 2024, our dear friend Dahai (aka Peter) Fu was playing tennis with his tennis club friends in San Diego. During a break, he fainted all of a sudden. When he fell, his head hit the ground so hard that his skull was fractured. He was rushed to the nearest hospital and diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Emergency surgery has been performed on him to release the intracranial pressure because he suffered a severe hemorrhage in his brain. He's been in a coma in the ICU since the surgery. Doctors are not very optimistic about his condition. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any family members or relatives here in the US and he doesn't have any advance directive. His family in China have been contacted and they are scrambling to get travel documents to come to San Diego ASAP. Even with his health insurance, we all know that the medical bill for the brain operation and ICU will be something that he cannot possibly afford. Peter has been a great friend to everyone who knows him. He is kind, warm-hearted and always willing to help others. Only one week ago on the July 4th holiday, he was cooking Takoyaki for a group of friends during a gathering. We are Peter's friends here in Southern California and seeking help on this platform to raise some funds for his medical bill, as well as some expenses for his family during their stay in San Diego. We pray he will regain his consciousness soon. My name is Joshua Lee and I am one of Dahai's Friends. Collectively we decided to open a LFEBridge page after his accident. Currently, he is still in the trauma ICU at the San Diego Scripps Memorial Hospital. A few other friends are visiting the hospital every day. They are getting daily updates from the doctors and facilitating his family members to obtain their visas so they can come to San Diego from China as soon as possible. The fund raised here will be mainly used for the following: 1. Medical bill incurred during his stay at the Scripps Memorial Hospital, San Diego that is not covered by his insurance 2. Follow-up therapy and other recovery-associated costs that are not covered by his insurance 3. Part of the expenses of his family for their travel and stay in San Diego 4. Funeral and memorial service expenses if he won't wake up from the coma (we pray this won't happen) The following is for the donors who prefer reading this fundraising in Chinese. 2024年7月7日大海和球友打网球，在休息时候忽然晕厥摔倒。非常不幸的是他摔倒时撞击到头部，造成头骨开裂并引起脑内大出血。他被送到医院后，医生做了紧急开颅手术取出淤血，并诊断为创伤性脑损伤。目前他还在重症室处于昏迷状态。医生对他的状况不是很乐观。 大海在美国没有家人，他也没有指定一个在他不能自理时的监护人。现在他的家人正在办理签证尽快赶到圣地亚哥来。 大家都知道在美国做开颅手术以及重症室的费用是及其高昂的，病人即使有医疗保险一般也只会负担80%左右的费用，剩下的需要病人自己承担。 认识大海的人都知道他对所有的人都非常友好，也是非常阳光，热心肠的一个人。 现在突然遇到这么不幸的事情，我们作为朋友想借助这个平台帮他筹集一些费用， 用于支付他的医疗费用以及他家人来美国的一些费用。 真诚的希望他能早日恢复健康。
