I am the daughter of the most amazing Mother God ever made! I am setting up this fundraiser to do what we can to offset the exorbitant amount of medical bills that Mom and Tom will need to cover. These are things we hope we never need but in her case, she does. She is recovering from 2 major surgeries that resulted in a spinal cord injury. She is potentially looking at up to a year of various levels of rehab. Our first rehab will be Shepherd Center in Atlanta due to their level of care not only being the very best but also an Acute Rehab facility. Mom is going to need to be in a very demanding rehabilitative program for the immediate and foreseeable future. We do not yet know what the next step will be, only that there will likely be a next step before returning home. There are so many things that we are realizing will be unexpected expenses. At the very least, I am hoping to help them with these initial copays, surgical fees, etc. so that their resources are depleted right out of the gate. Mom is still the hardest-working person I know and she will not be able to return to her Real Estate business for quite some time. Tom will continue to be right alongside her and will be her primary caregiver thus impeding his ability to work. God is continuing to bless her with so many little miracles every single day and we are SO grateful. We appreciate all of you so much! I want to say that Mom and Tom are unaware of this fundraiser because I don't want her to worry about or think about the financial side of all of this. She just needs to worry about rest, healing and strength! She and Tom both are very hard workers and would never ask for help!! This is our time to step in and help them.
