Hi, I’m Dawn…I am setting up this go fund me for my niece, Danielle Sissell, who was recently diagnosed with a trigeminal schwannoma brain tumor. This tumor is pretty rare. Danielle was diagnosed with this tumor only 5 WEEKS after her beautiful wedding!! This newlywed should be enjoying her married life with her new husband, Tyler, and instead, she is undergoing many medical tests/procedures and will have brain surgery on Wednesday, August 2nd. Please read Dani’s own words below. If you are able to help Dani and Tyler in ANY way financially, please donate to them! This will be a pretty rough time for them to get through! Dani’s own words from 7/23: About a week ago I suddenly had pins and needles across the left half of my face that wouldn’t go away, Tyler (my lovely husband that happens to be a nurse) thankfully made me go to the hospital and I was diagnosed with a left side trigeminal schwannoma, which they’re pretty confident is a benign (non-cancerous) brain tumor. Even though it is benign, it is causing damage. It is growing around my trigeminal (facial) nerve and putting pressure on my temporal lobe. This is causing trigeminal neuralgia (pins and needles and shocks of pain across my face), double vision, fatigue, and headaches. The tricky part is that it is in a very unusual spot in my head (only makes up about 0.3% of all brain tumors) which means most neurosurgeons haven’t seen very many of them, and it is a risky place to operate on. Because of this we are headed up to University of Pittsburgh on Monday and will be seeing a neurosurgeon who focuses exclusively on skull base tumors and cranial nerve surgeries so we should be in good hands! We’re trying to stay positive and are hoping the surgeon in Pittsburgh has other approaches and is able to give us better info and hopefully lower risks of damage to my facial nerves!! If you’ve made it this far in the post, thanks for reading and please send good thoughts our way ♥️
