UPDATE: To know her was to love her… I could never know the countless lives that have been impacted by this beautiful angel. I’ve had a small glimpse - seeing all the love and support that has been shown here, but I know it goes so much further. It’s such a testament to who she was and the life she lived full of so much love, kindness, joy, strength, and faith! We didn’t want her story to end this way but God is faithful. Only He sees the big picture. We may not ever understand the why, but we continue to trust in the One who holds us all. I celebrate with her that she is with Jesus and she is free of pain and free of disease. I celebrate her life and the legacy she has left in her beautiful family and all those who were blessed to call her friend. I am filled with gratitude and so very thankful God gave me the gift of her friendship that I will treasure forever. May we go forward carrying her light… Shining for Sherrie! Let’s love BIG - smile and laugh often - be a blessing - be thoughtful and generous- supporting and encouraging each other! And most of all have the hope and faith she had in Jesus and the strength and peace that comes with that! I want to continue support for her family in this incredibly difficult time and rally behind them, walk alongside them, loving them, carrying them through the days ahead. Please continue to share Sherrie’s story and share the stories you have with her with others! …forever in our hearts!!♥️♥️♥️ ____________________________________ My name is Jamie and I’m fundraising for my dear friend Sherrie Whitby. She is battling a recent diagnosis of cancer and could really use our love and support. Sherrie and I met each other almost 30 years ago when we crossed paths working at The Limited. Little did I know back then that she would become a very dear friend and a trusted colleague whom I greatly admire and respect. Fast forward to 2015… We got reacquainted when we worked together at the Gap and our friendship continued to grow. And most recently, we have worked together AGAIN for the past several years at Pottery Barn in OKC. For those of you that have ever worked in the retail world, you can appreciate the journey and a story like ours and hopefully a life long relationship you make along the way I feel so very honored and blessed to have this woman in my life. We share a foundation of faith in Jesus and she has been such an encouragement to me over the years. While working alongside her, she has invested in me, supported me, believed in me and is always encouraging me to be more and do more. I greatly admire how she leads and serves others with integrity, grace, and love. I am truly blessed to be able to do life with her and to call her friend. She gives wholeheartedly and sacrificially of her time, talents and treasures. Her smile and joy are contagious. She is always thinking of and caring for others. Even at her lowest, in the hospital, she was waiting for an Amazon order she placed because she recognized that the night nurses needed better flashlights when they check on patients late at night. Only Sherrie, while in the hospital, would be worried about everyone else before herself. That is what makes her special. She is a light to all those she comes in contact with! I know for many of you reading this, you feel the same as I do. The blessings you have received by her being in your life are numerous. Well, now it’s our turn to give wholeheartedly and to care for her! To come alongside her and support her. Sherrie is not someone who would ask anyone for help, so I’m here asking you for her. TOGETHER we will hold her up in her time of need. Sherrie is fighting the fight - battling cancer - not being able to work - facing the mountain of medical bills and navigating this life changing journey. Let’s come together and carry some of that burden for her and her family! Let’s show her some love. Whatever is on your heart to give - big or small makes a difference and will help ease the financial burden as she continues this battle. Most of all, I know she welcomes ALL the prayers. The way she has walked through this season with such faith, positivity, strength, courage, hope, and grace is so admirable. She amazes me! She is standing strong in faith for her healing, and we are standing with her and know that our God is able to do immeasurably more than we could ever ask for or imagine and that He will give her everything she needs in every moment. THANK YOU for taking the time to read this and getting to know a little more about my sweet friend - and for your consideration in donating and for being a light for her during this trying time♥️ 7/25 UPDATE: THANK YOU so much to everyone who has donated already and helped us reach $10,000 in 10 days! Your love and support is felt and appreciated by her and her family. We’ve updated the goal and want to continue to support her and carry her along this journey. Let’s shine for Sherrie!! ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
