Connor is our precious 8 year old son. He's had several surgeries to help improve his Klippel Feil syndrome and his spinal stenosis over the last few years. Recently he had a pretty risky surgery because his spinal cord was compressed so much it was affecting his entire body. The surgeon was able to take the pressure off the spinal cord but it paralyzed him in the process. Due to this, he is now a full quadriplegic with a trach and on a ventilator that breathes for him. The paralyzation is due to swelling on his spinal cord. We are unsure at this point if the swelling will ever resolve but we are hopeful. At his last checkup regarding his trach and vent, they were able to turn down some of the pressure because he was taking some breaths on his own. The hope is to eventually work his way off the ventilator. He was also diagnosed with Gastropaersis and has a feeding tube in his intestine to give him proper nutrition since his stomach only functions at 20%. He's adjusting as best as he can to his new body in the meantime and we will keep being hopeful that with time he can regain some functions. Funds will be used to get him a wheelchair accessible van and modify his home to be more accessible as insurance does not help with this at all and the wait lists for home mods are years long. Thank you for all of your support! If you'd like to send letters of support or anything to Connor his P.O. box is Connor Prewitt Po Box 668 Hurley MS 39555
