Background: Anyone who knows Ollie knows about his love for life. From his passion for motorbikes to his quiet way of helping others, Ollie has worked hard for years as a skilled stonemason to build a life in the countryside for himself and Charlotte, and their beloved dogs Major and Tiny who Ollie loved to walk with every day were he got to meet and chat with everyone. A hard worker and dedicated partner, Ollie has always been there for others and that’s why today we are asking that you come together with us to make a positive impact on Ollie's life and alleviate the burdens carried by both Ollie and Charlotte in their battle against Primary Progressive Anarthria, a rare neurological disorder, for which there is no known treatment and sadly it is progressive and terminal which has torn their lives and dreams apart. Ollie's Story: Over the past 3-years Primary Progressive Anarthria has gradually stripped Ollie of his voice and mobility, turning everyday tasks into uphill battles. Despite these adversities, his determination, cheeky wit and spirit remain as strong as ever. Charlotte, his partner for over 27 years, has stood by his side, providing daily support and encouragement, even as the challenges grow ever more daunting and complex. The Impact on their lives: Beyond the emotional toll, this disorder has also brought significant financial burdens and Charlotte, who left her job as a legal secretary to become Ollie's full-time caregiver, now shoulders the weight of their responsibilities alone. The mounting costs of medical care, mortgage payments, and everyday expenses have now become overwhelming.
